Yes it does. How would you respond to a western separatist who takes offence at your involvement particularily that you are coming out against them?

Who's the seperatist?
You mean anyone who stands up to the lieing liberals?

One of my x wifes first jobs was putting together little "Screwdough"
heads with a huge woodscrew on both sides sticking out,it was like an animal mount and I still have one hanging above my pool table.
The company folded after the Pierre regime left, but now when I look at that little head I will think of Derby.

Wonder what it would get on e-bay?

Before you Albertans get too cocky about forming your own country, look at the economic and social damges a politically unstable region can incur. One only has to look at Quebec, Montreal in particular, whose economy (one Canada's hub) has been desamated by years of seperatist talk. Even with huge oil reserves, Alberta's future prosperity will still rely heavily on outside investment which would most certainly dry up in the event western seperation gains momentous popularity. Ontario knows this and has frequently done studies about the economic benefits/downsides of a possible independent Quebec. It wouldn't be pretty.

Something to think about guys.

Gee really? Nobody from Alberta here is advocating separation so don't lump all Albertans as "separatists" thank you very much.

Rather than the West seperating, why don't we just tell Ottawa(and all the MPs) to leave? I'm sure this is something all Canadians can agree too.

Let's be honest, no one is really going anywhere. I swear sometimes that the great Canadian past time is bellyaching. :) We love to complain it seems, weither it's the west seperating, Quebec seperating or us all upping and joining the USA(though of late I think some states are thinking of going the other way). None of it is probably ever going to happen but we like to bat it around anyhow.

I'm currently living in Edmonton and have lived in Alberta all my life. While I would like to see some changes in parlament I have no desire to see us set up as it's own country or worse, part of the US!
