Our guys can do wonder provided the opportunities. Pakistanis did good in Squash and field Hockey as well...Check it out :)

On subject, this football world cup seems to have interesting matches....

By the way, I was reading somewhere that Russians have allowed their provocative fans again to be able to sit in stadiums....We all know fight can occur b/w fans. Russians shouldn't have done that. Hoping for good tournament.

THUGS UNLEASHED Hundreds of banned Russian football hooligans cleared to attend World Cup 2018 fixtures after being barred for attacking other fans

Which World cup are you watching?

I'd love to root for my own country, but Canada hasn't made it into the World Cup since 1982.

Yeah...I just realized :)

England deserved to win against Tunisia. They have a world-class striker for a change in Harry Kane - the best since Gary Lineker - but the midfield and defence aren’t fantastic.

Agreed. Against better teams they would have been punished more.

Belgium tossed aside World Cup debutantes Panama today as well while Sweden and South Park played the first snoozer of the tournament with Sweden winning 1-0 by way of a penalty kick.

Hope we Pakistanis also kick more balls by legs rather than just hitting it by a cricket bat.

Hundreds of others sports are there but Pakistanis can only play/give attention to CRICKET

Canada has not made it to the 2018 World Cup.....

That's why the World Cup has no interest for me - if I can't root for Canada, thanks but no thanks. Soccer's already boring as hell without having to cheer for some other country.

Historically, the Germans have never been well prepared when they go to Russia. 8O

If you want to blow your mind, check out the IIHF website and click on the countries dropdown.

http://www.iihf.com/

Some of the more surprising countries (for me anyways) include Argentina, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand and the UAE!

England were OK today. Apart from Kane they don't look great.

With the second round of games in the group stage underway, teams are already beginning to advance to the knockout round.

Hosts Russia and Uruguay qualified with their respective wins yesterday and today, Spain are Protugal are likely to move on but if Iran somehow manage to draw Portugal they could advance.

Rather dull, low scoring games the last two days sadly. Tactically interesting for devotees of football like myself, but not likely to win over any new fans either.

France secured their passage to the knockout round today with a 1-0 win over Peru. Denmark and Australia played to a 1-1 draw as well.,

However, the day's big topic of discussion will be how poor Argentina were in their 3-0 loss to Croatia.

And they were right shit. Croatia played as a team; Argentina as a "team" of 11 players with no cohesion, no plan B other than give it to Messi and hope for another magic show. It was an abject display that will haunt the Argentinians for years to come.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread Croatia will be a serious challenge for anybody. They mark up aggressively and are also able to cover the breaks. A guy like Modric adds skill to a physically intimidating team.
