This is nothing new...In the 1950's Ford had a Skyliner... I know a fellow who has a 1954 Ford with the glass insert roof...

Here's a photo of the 1954 Ford Skyliner. The glass roof is only over the front passengers and not a full glass roof like the 'Stang....
