It appears Ford is looking to dump their Volvo line and China is interested...

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/uptospe ... ing-f.html

I guess auto manufacturing in North America and Japan is doomed... Who can compete with China when it comes to manufacturing costs? China is North America's single biggest creditor so I guess it's only a matter of time...

Volvo's will never be made in China. 8O

They're far to safe for the Chinese Manufacturing sector to ever understand little own build.

Now the JiangLing Landwind X6 is a different story

Ford sold Volvo to China and the Chinese have said that while manufacturing will remain in Sweden for the 2012 and 2013 model years that by 2014 the cars may well be produced in China. In any case, the S80 I am driving right now is my last Volvo. It'll have to be a BMW, Mercedes, or maybe a Porsche after this.
