Your proposal that we continue to waste billions on something that hasn't produced any tangible results except those imaginitively created by cooked up figures while undefunding programs which are actually useful is government nuttiness in the extreme. After the first world war they tried to bring in a gun registry. Nobody bothered so they had to scrap it. To the great embarassment of chicken little the sky didn't fall. They tried again after the second world war.People ignored it and again they had to scrap it. Again chicken little was embarassed when the sky didn't fall, as he had predicted.<br /> You used to have to register CB radios. Nobody botherd and they had to scrap CB licences. Again , contrary to chicken little's predictions ,the sky didn't fall . You used to have to licence VHF radios. Again most people didn't bother and they were forced to scrap the program. Again chicken little was embarrassed when the sky didn't fall as he had predicted.<br /> I believe chicken little is a bureaucrat, pocketing our money whenever he is able to suck us into believing his dire predictions.<br /> It has ben said that those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them. The last lesson in this regard, the gun registry, resulted in billions being wasted, billions that could have made a huge difference to the strength of our health care system ,social safety net , crime reduction and many other worthwhile programs. Due to the wasting of this money, many have suffered and died needlessly, and we've moved closer to the social safety net disaster that is the US.It's time we stopped listening to chicken little and started looking objectively at the evidence.He's blown his credibilty far to may times to be taken seriously.<br /> Brent
