While lacking the size, the memory, the webcams, the app store and the brand name... here's an e-reader with more shit and a higher price than the last one.
The only decent 'competitor to the iPad' I've seen yet is the Asus that comes with a detachable keyboard so you can use it as a Netbook or a laptop. $499.00
And you still deal with an app store that looks like a store in Poland circa 1980....
