Jeez why can'teveryone just put XP to bed! Three more this week, pissed about for hours and ended up formatting and reinstalling they were so screwed.
Now they wreck the registry for the user, so shit just won't ever work for that user. The 2nd repair option doesn't show up, because something prevents the boot CD from seeing the installation.
The one today set all the files to hidden, and wrote errors all over the drive. And the customer called every half hour like a 5 yr old "Is it fixed yet?"

So after "cleaning" out the virus or malware can't you do a restore the hidden files etc?

You can use unhide.exe, but you don't want to unhide everything or twits will delete their application data, local settings folders.
Still doesn't work properly. Too many hours spent already, time to re/re.
