Having just upgraded my Linux computer to Mandriva 2009 Spring [Gnome] last month, I just got a message that Mandriva 2010 is released....

I much prefer Mandriva over Ubuntu 9.04 or Suse/OpenSuse or Mepis.... Although I must admit I did really like Mepis 7.0....

Any Mandriva fans or users here?

Sure It's a great distro: I use it at home and at work.

The 2010 has a great kde4 integration.

I used to run an older computer with Mandriva 2005?6? It was a good server for my website, I don't think it crashed in the 2 years that I ran it. But it was also a home workstation that used to fustrate the hell out of me. I am not a power user, but I expect the multimedia features of a browser to work after a default installation. Madrive didn't have a good handle on the video streaming. And, it pisses me off to no end, how freaking painful it is to do simple tasks because every little task required me to pull out a technical reference to learn a command line statement. I understand the idea behind the advantages of a command line, but frankly as an end user, i don't have the patience to use it.

I have Ubuntu on my workstation, people tell me its pretty damn good as a multimedia workstation. I hope they are correct, but I haven't gotten around to plugging it into my network hub.

I'll check it out. Used to do Mandrake, but I went with Ubuntu years back and now it's just easier to keep all the machines the same. Just makes it easier and you get used to stuff.
But I like to check out everything on a spare box for a while.
