I've trying to download a 3d rendering program to fart around with but every time I go to download it my antivirus gets a hold of the damn thing and automatically erases it / blocks it. I don't think its a malicious software program because I'm downloading directly from the developers website. Should I continue to try to download this thing if I keep getting warnings or is my antivirus is getting confused and mistaking this for a malicious program when its not?

I had the same problem yesterday trying to download a different program, again both programs are well known and widely used.

The sites if you want to check them out are”
3D Studio Max: http://usa.autodesk.com/3ds-max/
Daz Studio: httphttp://www.daz3d.com/
*don’t worry, the links don’t take you to the download page, just the product info pages.

Have you emailed the developer's site to tell them what happening?

I cant find a email for support (figures  ). They have a q/a section so I posted a question there but who knows how long that will take. I also went on their forum but couldn't find anything related to this issue. I'll maybe try posting on the forum for some help.

I'm having the same problem on both my computers which run two different antivirus programs when I try to download either product. I could see if I was downloading a bit torrent or something but I've never had this problem before downloading from a developer’s site.

Are you running the install from the site? That can cause issues. Try downloading the program to your computer first and then running the install locally instead of doing so over the WAN.

Ok I got er. I was trying to run it from the site like Bart had mentioned so I redownloaded it and saved it to the hard drive which did the trick. My antivirus still didn't like it but I got installed. Now I just have to learn how to use it XD .

Thanks for the help guys.

You're using Internet Explorer.. whack! No wonder you need TWO antivirus programs.... it's 2012 in less than 36 hrs. Ditch IE like how 1998...
