Users of smartphones and tablet computers are starting to get high-tech blues, as increasing numbers of the tech savvy are coming down with ailments from "text neck" to "text thumb injury".

Health experts in Britain have warned that strain injuries stemming from long periods spent staring at small screens and tapping at tiny keys can be debilitating. And such injuries are becoming more common as high-tech gadgets grow ever more popular.

Increasing numbers of Britons use their smartphones for accessing the Internet rather than making phone calls.

According to a recent YouGov poll of over 2,000 people, 44 percent of Britons use their mobile phone for activities other than making calls, for between 30 minutes and two hours a day.

Technology. Isn't it grand.

I just find it baffling that people'd buy a 500 buck 7" tablet and then go out and spend another couple of hundred dollars to turn it into an undepowered poor imitation of a laptop computer.

Maybe that Zager and Evans song is getting closer to the truth than we'd like to admit, especially the part about the arms and the legs
