Anyone know of a utility that can tell you how old the battery is in your APC UPS? I have four APC UPSes at home and can't remember how old the batteries are...

Thanks kindly

Stemmer

PS: I do have the APC software installed but I don't see an option to inform age of battery....

I don't think it's possible to find that information. 'Age' isn't really recorded anywhere, not even on the battery itself.

Sick thing is that it's usually cheaper to replace the whole thing.
Haven't had good experience with that brand at all.

I've purchased replacement batteries from this outfit...

http://www.upsforless.com/

Their replacment batteries are much cheaper then APC (approx 1/2 price) and shipping is cheap///

The website is in the USA but look on the right side of their website. They offer "Hassle Free shipping to Canada"...

For example my APC UPS BE750BB uses the APC replacement battery RBC4. APC's price is $70. Upsfor less sells an equivalent UBC4 for $29.00

My second UPS is the APC BE500-CN. APC battery is RBC2 at $39. Ups for less sells the UBC2 at $17.00...

Shipping was less then $20.00 and it arrived within 7 business days...

I've aleady replaced the battery in the BE500 UPS and the replacement battery is fine... I also have two more UPSes at home but can't recall how old they are...hence the query about the utility...

Cheers

Stemmer

That's not really correct.
If you buy batteries from the right company they're date stamped
and should be changed every 4+ years.
