I have a BB storm and wow did I ever get sucked in. I'm seriously wanting a new phone. Just don't want the bs of my BB anymore. Freekin thing crashes on a weekly basis at least.

Any sugestions? I was thinking about an Iphone4 but cant get one because Sasktel dont carry it..... YAY for saskatchewan.

The problem is the Storm itself. Garbage.

I've been through many BB's, never a problem. Not 1 crash. Ever.

We use BB's and iPhone's at work. Many, including the owner of the company, is switching back to a BB from an iPhone as the iPhone is too buggy and just doesn't integrate as well with corporate emails and calendars.

Everyone talks about iPhones or anything Apple like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I guess if you wanted to have a toy like a slice of bread that's fine but I think Apple products are a rip off starting with their overpriced accessories and god forbid you want to connect it to a regular PC. Apple can grind anything to a stop and DOES NOT like to share with anything else you own. An ordinary cheap MP3 player will let you move your songs from one computer to another just by plugging it in and moving them. iTunes........ROTFL nope!
I have an iPod and an iTouch but only the older iPod will charge in my Bose docking station while playing. The iTouch will play but not charge........WTF they both use those stupid fucking white wires that look identical. Oh but that's right Apple wants you to go out and buy all new Apple shit to support your overpriced digital picture frame. And speaking of those white fucking wires that .......I've had to mark......because they changed one fucking wire inside. The iTouch won't charge if you use a BlackBerry USB wall plug adapter with their white fucking wire.........Apple? Seriously?? PDT_Armataz_01_33
Two months ago my wife got an iPhone4............last week she sold that (DPF) digital picture frame for $500 and got a brand new Samsung for $10 and it does all the same things the Apple DPF did.
HEY Apple..................AP this! [but]

Yet anything that plugs into my BlackBerry will charge it. [cheer]

Old school LG. Had a Blackberry and hated it slow. Slow, difficult at best to browse - I finally got tired of the damned thing and de-evolved!

I can sync mp3 on the Iphone via itunes with no problems. Itunes is bloatware as it was designed on a mac and the windows version uses up a lot more resources then winamp would by far.

I did jailbreak my phone a while back but ended up restoring it. For all the raves people say that Iphone doesn't let you do anything but what they want well there is a good reason, Stability. Sure, when I jailbroke the phone I was able to do a great deal on the phone that I wasn't able to before like play my mp3's via bluetooth but on the flipside I had to reboot and respring the iOS every 15 mins it seemed. On top of that I don't have to have a virus checker on it whereas my wifes samsung galaxy android phone needs one. Can you say rootkit virus?

I am disappointed in the Iphones email as required for corp email but they are late to the game as compared to BB. Most systems were designed with BB in mind to begin with. The worst thing I find about my Iphone is the carrier, Rogers. The next Iphone I get will be at the apple store, fuck the contract.

My android phone wasn't in jail when I bought it. I have full access to the bootloader, and the OS. I guess it seems normal to some people to not be able to write and run programs on your own phone. Or to see and audit what data is being sent to and from your phone. To me that's completely unacceptable to lock people out. Once Harper has his way with our copyright law and gives us the DMCA.. It will be illegal for you to jailbreak your phone too.

I saw on some tech news sites that HTC is unlocking the bootloader on all new phones, making it even easier for people to install custom ROMs (different versions and confiurations of Android).

When I got my Android phone last summer the first thing I did was root it and isntall a custom android rom, which also ran a newer version of android than that was available for my phone. Leedroid 2.2

2 days ago I decided to wipe my phone and install a new ROM based on the newest android 2.3.3 (gingerbread). Which isn't official available for my phone. I decided to go away from the HTC Sense based roms and use a very popular custom UI made in china called MIUI. Its a bit more iphonish than stock or htc android, but its very polished and has updated almost weekly. I am very happy so far.

I get a much higher Quadrant score now. An app used to measure cpu and gpu performance of a phone.

My Score: 2138

What's your score if you have an adroid phone? get the app here

I absolutely love the Android Market website, its so nice being able to browse for new apps on my desktop with a fullscreen and simply slick the "install" button on the website and it magically installs on my phone remotely.

Android is hamstrung with devs. The best apps are in the itunes store for a reason, they can count on getting paid. Don't get me started about the android market and china hackers with rootkits to get banking info... Android is as secure as sony PSN.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/bl ... ps-malware

Here is a very quick summary of the latest quarterly numbers from Apple:

Rev = $24.7 Billion (83% growth year over year)
Total Cash = $65.8 Billion - Up $6.2 Billion from the end of the last quarter

Last Quarter Sales
iPhones Sold = 18.6 Mil (up from 8.8 Mil the year ago quarter)
iPads Sold = 4.7 Mil

All iPod's Sold = 9 Mil - but said over 50% were iPod Touches. Est = 5 Mil iPod Touches sold last quarter.
189 Mil iOS devices sold total by the end of the last quarter
iTunes Store = >$1.4 Bil Revenue for the Quarter.
$12.3 Bil Rev from iPhone
186 Carriers around the world for iPhone.
90 Countries have the iPhone at the end of last quarter.
88% of Fortune 500 companies have deployed or are testing iPhone.
>$2 Bil in payments sent out to developers of iOS Apps
iPad is now in 59 Countries.

BB and Nokia are going to be gobbled up by google android but it's a sinking ship as the platform is over so many different systems with new specs for each one. Sure, it's open but you get what you pay for in stability and constancy. It's like they reinvent the wheel with every new iteration with all new series of flaws and the devs are TIRED of it as they need to make money and not pump money into money losing devices. Why is it that the best apps are all itunes 1st and then maybe android? That is androids Achilles heel.

As to it being illigal to jailbreak, that will be Acta and not Apple. You won't see apple going after jailbreakers or people who sign up for US itunes accounts in Canada so they can get US apps. They need to protect their brand though and that means they will go after cockroaches like this without mercy, however Android dev's will be on their own.

As to the white cords, I never had an Ipod just the iphone so it was never an issue for me. :)

Sure it's ACTA, but if there is no jail to break then anti circumvention isn't an issue if you aren't circumventing anything. It is Apple that puts you in a situation to have to jailbreak. I'll choose free and open over closed and proprietary every time.

{url=http://www.macgasm.net/2011/06/01/feds-ditch-blackberry-iphone-ipad-norm/]Feds ditch Blackberry as iPhone and iPad become the norm[/url]

Now that BB is no longer exclusive to a vast majority of the email market Iphone will now dominate here as well.
