Well I have moved into a new house, and have a puzzle. My old dryer was of the stack-able variety, but because of the layout of the new house I cannot stack it. So as a result I have something that looks like this:Image
Besides looking unappealing, all the buttons are at the bottom. So I set out to get a new one; thats when I saw a 50 inch Sony 3D TV. Now through the Canex it will cost me roughly 60 bucks a month for a year for the dryer, 76 for 3 years for the 50 inch TV and 86 for 3 years for the 60 inch of the same type of TV. The other catch is, it will be 3 months before the new dryer arrives but the TV's are in stock at the moment (however might not be for much longer). I could get the new TV then get a used dryer, or I could suck it all up and save my cash.

So what should I do?
New Dryer?
New TV; 50 or 60 inch?
or Do nothing and work with what I have got?

Do nothing.

Set aside $60(or more)/month, then buy with Cash. What to Buy will depend on whether you have a Wife or not, mostly. You could try to Sell your Dryer, to raise some of the Cash needed. Just a thought.

Suck it up buddy. That 50" TV can be had at Costco for less than what 16 payments is, never mind 36. Or in a moment of weakness, your Visa card's half the interest of in-house financing.

This guy has it right, always try to pay in cash when possible, waiting the extra years for the new TV will save you hundreds and the TVs that come out in 3 years will be even bigger so the 60 inch will be interest free and cheaper.

There is always a catch when they say that, like tacking on an extra 10% to the original bill.

Guy - Almost deserved a double facepalm.

Jeff - Don't talk about what you don't know. The whole point of CANEX is to be a military-run retail store for CF Military personal both at home and abroad. I wont call it a discount store, because some of the shit they sell (namely groceries) are more expensive than you would find elsewhere. Other things, like Meats, household appliances, tyres, etc are sold on the cheap, real cheap. You pay the factory cost, plus a tiny amount for service charges, and the government covers the rest: Shipping, employee payroll, etc. Sometimes there is markup, but very little compared to other retail stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, etc.

As an example, I bought my current Macbook from an Apple Store. With the in-house military discount costed me $2600 at time of purchase (right after tour). It would have cost the average civvie around $2850. What I should have done, was ordered the same model with the same specs from the factory through Canex, and it would have cost me only $2300, with no mark up, whether I used CANEX Plan or not.

300 dollar mistake. But the difference was that I had a Macbook right from the store for Post tour/Christmas leave (my old Laptop was destroyed overseas), or I could have ordered through Canex, waited 3-6 weeks for delivery, and finally have it mid-way through my block leave. It's a mistake I can live with.

be careful...I asked my wife a similar question a few years ago. Women try and trick/trap you, as she said,'What do you think?' Apparently, the new electric trolling motor was the wrong choice. :?

She is all for the TV or the dryer, she just wants something to replace either. I think I just need to do more research on the 3D TV thing, I have been wondering if you could watch 3d movies on a regular HD TV.
