Wow, a couple of shockers in there for me. Travolta as Gump?
Quote:
Hard to imagine Travolta drawling "Life is like a box of chocolates." And yet Tom Hanks only snagged the role of slow-talking Forrest Gump after the Pulp Fiction star turned it down. It worked out well for Hanks, who went on to win his second Oscar for the part in Robert Zedmeckis' 1994 flick. Travolta has since admitted his decision to pass was a mistake.
It wasn't a mistake. It can only have been a mistake if it would have been as big with Travolta as it was with Hanks, and I really doubt it would have been.
And Selleck as Jones???? He's got the right attitude, and in a perfect universe it would be awesome to see how the two movies would have differed. And I wonder if Selleck would have gotten the same case of dysentery.
