I wouldn't have thought that under a NDP govt they ministry would be that hardass.
Docs presecribe off label all the time, eg prsecribing a drug that's not been tested on kids for kids. But prescribe pot and see how efficacious it is? Noooooo.
Just looking at pot as a pharmaceutical the answer to your question is this:
If pot is prescribed does it make any difference to you who grew, processed, and retailed the pot?
Do you care if it was imported from Mexico and grown with illegal pesticides?
Do you care if they used known carcinogens to prevent molding on the pot?
Are you okay with them using cancer-causing silicates as desiccants to preserve it in transport?
What if it's Chinese pot - where the Chinese are known to use forms of lead to help enhance the colors and shelf appeal?
At the current time that's my concern about pot and I would not want it used on my child unless I grew it myself and was assured of its safety.
