Typical CBC clickbait. The truth is that they want to "cull" the seals down to a manageable population and for anyone who doesn't understand, culling is different from indiscriminate killing like the headline infers.

If we can spend millions fixing one sick Orca we should be able to cull their main competition for the local salmon because, if something isn't done and soon all the fishing closures in the world won't save the Southern Resident Pod.

Enough of the poor "Flipper" crap. These creatures have become nothing more than the mammal version of sea gulls. Eat, shit, repeat and by eat, I mean every fish in their vicinity.

No, it is not. Flipper pie is the single most disgusting thing I've ever eaten.

They try, but too few Orcas and too many seals.

Seals are clever too. Often easier with better results for the orcas to go after a school of fish they can use their encirclement tactics against.

It is but I'd recommend skipping the liver since there have been numerous documented instances of dead/culled seals with high levels of mercury in their livers.

Our friends in Bellingham have Native American friends who give them seal meat and I rather enjoyed it. It's tender, sort of gamey and fishy at the same time, not too greasy as one would expect but more like duck.

I haven't had the flipper, though.

Breath freshener for people who eat manure.
