Looks like payback. Quote: Amnesty International said in early August that Rakhine Buddhists, together with security forces, purposefully meted out devastating violence against the Muslim minority.

Although highly condemnable, you'd expect to see some blowback eventually, there is a systematic genocide taking place across the border in burma by the Budhists against the Rohingyas.
The topic never popped up here on CKA, although people have demonstrated against it at the Burmese Embassy in Canada, I know this because my friend has attended them.
Although Bangladesh should go fuck themselves as they turn back all the refugees fleeing if not outright shoot them. There have also been cases of them towing the refugee boats far out into the sea in their and left them their.

With this new violence against Buddhists in Bangladesh looks to me like Bangladesh is spot-on with their policies towards the Rohingyas.

So you oppress a people until they go violent and then use that as justification for your already existing genocide? That exact logic means that the resisting Jews in Germany provided justification for Hitler to kill all of them. Congratulations, you made Hitler a saint.

The ironic thing here is that it is a Muslim-majority government in Bangladesh that I'm defending.

Isn't it ironic that they (Bangladeshi's muslims)get all irate because someone denegrates their prophet, but its okay for them to desecrate other religious temples, etc?

It was NOT Bangladeshi muslims who did this, to the contrary, it appears that Bangladeshi muslims are defending the Bangladeshi Buddhists.

"Thousands of Muslims went on a rampage in Buddhist areas of Bangladesh near the border on Saturday, setting ablaze more than a dozen temples and monasteries and at least 50 homes. Property was looted, including statues of the Buddha." My comment was directed more at the hypocrsy of the wole situation.

Cue my babes 2cdo and EB Bart and Martin have already played their sets. If they people perpetrating these attacks against the Muslims were real buddhists there would have been no attacks. So, given that thought, my guess would be that the Government of Burma has a hand in these attacks since they're the same tactics they used against the Kachin minorities in the North. But with that aside, well done to the Bangladesh Gov't for having the balls to protect everyone and not just their religous bretheren and piss on the Burmese Gov't for being a scum sucking military dictatorship who uses religous and ethnic differences to control the masses.
