Where did I say I supported taking their assets?I'll wait.

Because this all started with me pointing out that this new party wanting to take any billionaires money over 999,999,999.99 is theft.

From that point forward everyone is trying to change the bar and arguing moral right to do something that they claim is wrong.

You seem to be siding with them. Sorry if I miss interpreting what you are trying to say.

I assure you, I'm not siding with them. I'm merely questioning the morality of it. If rich people create an environment to extort the poor for their own ends, and use the wealth and power they've obtained to continually extort the poor, are the poor wrong for exacting (illegal) retribution?

The Greeks knew when they developed this concept of 'Democracy' that it would ultimately be about the poor ruling the wealthy, because all things being equal there simply would always be more poor than wealthy.

It's only when the wealthy found they could buy the politicians and make them create an economic system that favoured wealth that has changed many western democracies into another form of rule by the autocracy.

Who benefited by the repeal of inheritance tax? Who benefits when big business gets tax breaks? Who benefits when income from hedge funds or contractual bonuses is taxed at a lower rate than regular income?

The answer to none of those is 'the poor'.

A prime example was how Peter Thiel took down a news organization, over nothing.

To be fair, calling gawker a new organization is generous.

To know how badly the system is rigged one need only look at theft laws. If I steal from a business it's out and out theft, it's illegal and the police and criminal justice system will play a part. But if that SAME business steals from me, well I'm on my own because it's a civil matter that the police and criminal justice system won't get involved with.

Perhaps so, it's just the chilling effect that a Billionaire can decimate something because it pisses him off. That's usually the power The State wields, and The State has rules against such things. Billionaires don't.

Like George Soros almost destroying the Bank of England and severely damaging the UK's economy just to make a cool billion.

One person posting news online is a news organization.

Freedom of the press is not about the freedom of select group of people who call themselves 'the press', it is the right of the people to disseminate information.

Public_Domain Public_Domain:
i don't think we should tax the rich.

...

I understand.
You'd rather EAT them.
When I see oil drop almost half price and the price of gas drops a mere 3 cents, I'll be happy to bring BBQ sauce.....

So instead of being jealous, why don't you invent something that the whole world wants to purchase. Kinda like the platform we are using here. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs created something the whole world wants to use so why shouldn't they become wealthy?

You want to use their product so you purchase it and then u bitch because they are now rich. I guess the ditch digger and the cardiac specialist deserve the same pay. Yikes!

You might pay for operating systems, but I use Fedora Linux. It's free. And I contribute when I can, so it stays free.

If you're so smart why ain't ya rich?

Heard that from morons for over 60 years.

Techie and 30 year sales experience all I heard was "MS Office is free! It should be included in my computer! iPhones a free! Mine cost $0. That's how Gates and Jobs got rich!"
Now it's "the anvil I ordered on Amazon got delivered overnight, absolutely free. Right to my cabin in Germansen Landing"

Like the PhpBB platform this runs on?
THE #1 FREE, OPEN SOURCE BULLETIN BOARD SOFTWARE

or the paid for Windows server that hosts it and causes 90% of the problems?
