Big thing here is it means the poor people who live in the ghettos will be better able to defend themselves against gangs and the murderous gangs of police.

I don’t care about the gun part but notice it’s a pledge to rule by decree. This guy’s authoritarian tendencies are the exact opposite of freedom and liberty. Contrary to popular belief many of history’s most inffamous dictators didn’t have strict gun control.

Seems like a terrific way to cull more of the unwanted surplus population in an already hyper-violent country is to distribute as many handguns as possible. Kind of a capitalist version of eugenics when you think of it - gets rid of a lot of the designated losers while simultaneously enriching the firearms companies, the ammo suppliers, and most of the politicians. Plus it doesn't offend the Catholic church by doing something extremely awful such as, say, distributing proper birth control among the poor and destitute to keep their numbers down. There ain't no way that a lot of the already wealthy sociopaths at the top of the heap in Brazil aren't going to make a hell of a lot of money off of this scheme.

I hate those kind of guys who celebrate rule by decree.

Barack Hussein Obama Barack Hussein Obama:
We're not just going to be waiting for legislation, I've got a pen and I've got a phone...and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions.

He signed less than Bush. Trump is also signing about 12 more per year of office.

Trump had to do several EO to undo those of Obama and to undo regulatory 'laws' that were implemented under Obama...such as the EPA regulation that classified every farmer's irrigation ditch in the USA as a 'navigable waterway'.

There's a list of his EO on Wiki to illustrate this:

Point being? Is it okay to have executive orders if it ruins the previous presidents executive orders? So if a democrat president comes in after Trump, and does the exact same thing, you aren't going to be bitching here about it?

The difference between Trump's EO and Obama's is that Trump's EO (like his tax cuts) are being subsequently codified into law by Congress or upheld in the courts (like his travel ban on leading terrorist nations).

Obama's key EO (DACA) are being revoked because they were never codified.

Do recall that I'm responding to Beaver's comment on dictatorial decree. Obama openly stated his intent to act by decree in the face of Congressional opposition.

And Obama's decrees are being overturned. The fact that Trump has a lot of Obama era decrees to overturn says more about Obama than Trump.

Authoritarian leaders are often the last option for desperate people whose representative governments have either failed or that have become authoritarian on their own.

Authoritarians are a symptom of decline and the decline is the problem, not the authoritarian who may try to hold back the tide of anarchy and chaos.

More fun stuff from Bolsanaro:

$1:
Brazil’s new President vows to fight “Marxist garbage” and “climate change hoax”

On New Year’s Day, Brazil’s new president, Jair Bolsonaro, was sworn in – and he started his presidency with a bang.

One of his main goals is to fight the “Marxist garbage” that has installed itself in educational institutions, Samhällsnytt reports.

If any values are to be taught in schools alongside the subject knowledge, then it’s traditional family values, the newly appointed Minister of Education Ricardo Vélez has stated.

Brazil’s hosting of the UN climate summit in 2019 has been canceled – because the president believes that the doomsday climate change warnings are exaggerated and propaganda from the global left and cultural Marxists.

As we reported earlier he has promised to make the process short with the criminal gangs that plague the country.

Police have been instructed to shoot to kill in confrontations with armed gang criminals, and in Rio de Janeiro, snipers will be deployed to eliminate violent street criminals, and all law-abiding Brazilian citizens will have the right to carry weapons to protect themselves.

Bolsonaro also wants to strengthen the ties to Trump and has announced that he will follow the US example and move Brazil’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Many of the ministers appointed by Bolsonaro, like he himself, have a military past. Only two of the new ministers are women.

Judge Sergio Moro has been appointed as Minister of Justice. It was he who sentenced former President Lula da Silva to twelve years in prison for corruption.

Bolsonaro gets off to a good start as president in terms of public opinion. 75 per cent of Brazilians believe that the new Government’s path is the right way to go.

Several State leaders, including Viktor Orbán and Benjamin Netanyahu of Hungary and Israel, attended the inauguration ceremony to honour Bolsonaro.

Torne o Brasil ótimo novamente! R=UP
