My 40 year mortgage is going great thank you. Last year, I was able to write off 50% of the interest I paid, as well as paying my condo down by more than $10,000 extra dollars last year (far more than I would have had I gotten a 25 year mortgage). I hope to buy another one next year if the prices keep falling.

The house I've got my eyes on is on Ada Boulevard here in Edmonton, with a stunning view of the river valley, was built about 40 years ago, but extensively remodelled in the mid-90s. Its owned by a friend's parents who are both UofA profs and plan on retiring in 2012...

got your eyes on? you said you already bought it?

you really are full of shit

a quote from your PM

"The house I'm buying in two months has a huge yard and sits about 25 feet from the nearest neigbour. Gotta love those big corner lots! [B-o]

I take it your 40 year mortgage is stretched to the max  the bank already said no way.

Nope, different house, chum. I'm not full of shit, you just never learned to read...notice one is the one I'm buying in two months, and the other I plan on buying in 2012 when they retire...guess not. That's what happens to dropouts...they never learn to read or tell time! Back to grade school...

The one on Ada boulevard is the house I want to live in. The one with the corner lot in Clareview is just a house that I will rent out after I buy the one on Ada (again, in 2012).

I've said several times jokingly here I want to be a slumlord, and with the houses and condos I own/plan on buying in the next two-four years, I'll be well on my way! The only difference is that I'll be landlord, not a slumlord (although Clareview is kind of a crappy neighbourhood, but the house isn't).
