There is little difference between Psychopath and Sociopath. And Psychopath is considered a more focused version of Antisocial Personality Disorder (Just wrote a lit review on this )

I come from the view of Narcissistic Personality Disorder for Psychopath. I find quite a difference in the two types.

I love this shit btw

Feels good to actually be able to have a conversation about what I'm studying.

Check my link above.

The link is taking me to the login....whats the article title, I will search. I have an account there as well

These findings suggest that psychopathy is associated with brain abnormalities in a prefrontal-temporo-limbic circuit-i.e. regions that are involved, among others, in emotional and learning processes. Additionally, data indicate that psychopathic individuals cannot be seen as a homogeneous group. The associations between structural changes and psychopathic characteristics do not enable causal conclusions to be drawn, but point rather to the important role of biological brain abnormalities in psychopathy. To gain a comprehensive understanding of this, psychopathy must be viewed as a multifactorial process involving neurobiological, genetic, epidemiological and sociobiographical factors.

so is this where the human conscience and a knowledge of good and evil can be found?

Got it!!! Thanks!!!

Neuroimaging is so interesting. Its interesting to see from the article that the psychopath shows impairment in the prefrontal-temporo-limbic circuit but the sociopath shows impairment in the prefrontal cortex, superior temporal gyrus, amygdala-hippocampal complex, and anterior cingulate cortex.

I wish I could find the research I saw in this area, with the research came a DVD showing the MRI. What the research was looking at was, if indeed, some have no conscience. The stimuli used was tactile, auditory, visual and some very disturbing. It was amazing and disturbing to see that some just dont have the ability to emote.

Yeah it was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.

If I'm not mistaken, we just had a reasonable discussion about an intellectual topic. My god. Jesus must have just been reborn. I think I just became religious...

I 'sat this one out' cuz I don't have any 'academic education' so have nothing of substance to offer the conversation. My only experience is limited to living with three 'such people' (professionally diagnosed) for over fifteen years!

Life experience is just as relevant, if not more so IMO, as academic Yogi.

Even though the 'experience' has taught me to truly understand where some people have been and what they are going through, I could have done without it.
I ask myself often "What the hell were you thinking???"
