Chalk this up to a case of fear mongering to sell newspapers. The same way we now believe everyone is waiting to snatch our children (when stats show you’re more likely to win the lottery – twice), we’re supposed to fear Mexico. Relative to other vacation destinations, including the USA, Mexico isn't unsafe. Check out the stats on both those links. And when you factor in that the VAST majority of slain and/or beaten tourists were actively seeking drugs off the resort, or were former residents visiting family FAR outside the safe tourist areas it paints an even brighter picture.

I’ve been countless times and never felt remotely unsafe. One key reason may be that the cartels actually own much of the tourist areas and guard their own investment, likely even better than the government does.

Use common sense, and you’ll be safer there then you are in any small Canadian city.

The flight, which included a brief stop in Denver for fuel, lasted roughly five and a half hours, said the pilot.

“She did well,” he said, who noted her spouse “is a real doting kind of husband.”

Similar flights generally cost between $20,000 and $30,000, he said.

A spokeswoman for Latitude said she couldn’t confirm or deny the report the company flew Nabb from Mazatan. She confirmed one of the air ambulance service’s aircraft landed in Calgary Friday morning.

Family members say they’re extremely pleased Nabb is back home. She must undergo extensive facial reconstructive surgery.

And since you've been there, you can obviously disspell the myth of Singapore being super clean...it's only clean when compared to most other south east Asian cities which tend to be cess pits.

I can certainly attest to the cleanliness of Singapore as compared to let's say Bangkok, Hong Kong or Manilla, Pusan, Seoul and various others. But even in those cities there are areas of cleanliness and proper santitation that would rival any North American city, it's just their working class or slum areas that are kinda nasty and for some odd reason that's where we always seemed to end up.

Singapore was always great but you can only take so many British Expats twits sitting in Raffles, sipping gin and tonic while reminiscing about the glory days of the Empire which, is something most of them weren't old enough to remember.

It may not have been smart but it was always alot more fun when you went with the natives than doing the tours of the museums, library's and tourist attractions.

But IMO compared to most South American Cities, Singapore actually ranks as pretty clean.
