First Pryor(and while not a Royal Highlandersaurus, i do have a fair number of LPs collected....'That Nigger's crazy' being one) and now Carlin.

I like Carlin's, 1982 comment on Pryor:

Quote:
“ An update on the comedian health sweepstakes. I currently lead Richard Pryor in heart attacks 2 to 1. But Richard still leads me 1 to nothing in burning yourself up. See, it happened like this. First Richard had a heart attack. Then I had a heart attack. Then Richard burned himself up. And I said, 'Fuck that. I'm having another heart attack!'

How many here remember buying a new 'LP when it came out? I bought Iron butterfly on lp, I had Jesus Christ Superstar on lp. I used to listen to Bill Cosby on lp Remembers LP's?? records you put on a turntable and use a needle to play it??.. What a wake up call for me.. It told me that im geting old... A sad day for comedy... thansk for posting that Youtube video of him doing his 7 words... An era has passed us.. Any one remeber when He played Jonhnny Cason??[/quote

A sad day indeed. I was on my way to work this morning when I heard it on the news.

RIP George.

I also 'spin the vinyl' now and then. I still have the old 'Hi-Fi'complete with 8-track. A sizeable collection of LP's, 45's, even a couple of 78's. As well as several hundred cassettes. Them were the days!

he wasnt Only a Comedian, he was the voice of logic that rang out over the decades. Holding things like politics and religion up to the fire and letting them burn. The man wasn't a comedian, he was a philosopher with fantastic timing and a filthy mouth.
