Won't matter, the second the debate is opened the cons will be related to it even if they get rid of the guy.

Can't muzzle free speech, but you don't have to open a debate on the issue. he can jabber all he wants as an MP. it's not party policy. There were 12 Liberal MPs and senators who tried to introduce anti abortion legislation as well.

http://www.arcc-cdac.ca/presentations/anti-bills.html

It's a pretty divisive issue and as the link I posted points out, the last government sponsored bill was narrowly defeated in the senate. Pro choice doesn't mean you are pro abortion it just means you support the ability to choose that option. Many who are pro choice would never make abortion their choice, like my wife and myself. However, we don't have the right to deny others their right to choose, whether we disagree with it or not.

The problems of the 21st century are still the same as those that have plagued us in the earlier centuries. Nothing too new has really come up in these past 11 years. As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Abortion was a problem before it was settled 20+ years ago. It's a problem no more. Time to focus on problems that haven't been solved.

Never close the discussion/conversation on anything. Ever.
There is ALWAYS room for improvement on everything, even abortion.

Improvement is not what some seek. Re-criminalization is.

It's legal status was settled. However, so was the legal status of gay marriage and capital punishment, yet they remain highly controversial, and will likely remain so for a long time. Unfortunately, laws change over time, the events of 911 proved how 'entrenched' civil liberties were trumped by 'security'. hell the Americans claim they fought their revolution over the erosion of their traditional rights of/as Englishmen. You can't write off something like this with, 'we made a law 20 years ago', so case closed Sadly, the stone in which laws and rights are set in are soapstone, if not something lower on Mohs scale.

All true and irrelevant to the prospects of sending teenaged girls back to the alleys.

I guess I just worry about my 6 year old daughter. I worry that religious nuts seek to take away her right to choice and freedom over her body.

Nor can I, honestly and thankfully. But why bring it up? There's no need to be a douchebag, Woodworth. Get out of the goddamn dark ages. Put the bible down and do your fucking job.
