Not necessarily. Being that he's a Prominent personality in a business where publicity is very important, for both the person and the company this person drawing negative publicity based upon his opinions also negatively affects the company. Sportsnet is in a competitive market and this kind of thing can be very damaging to it.
The guy should have shut his mouth/Tweets. He has the right to his opinion and overall what he said was stupid, but not really offensive. That said, he had to know that he was opening a can of worms by saying what he did and probably knew the risks of doing so.
