Thanos Thanos:
They probably need the duckers money to cover what they're going to lose in the Dave Hester lawsuit.

What the hell does that ego on legs have to sue A&E for? They fail to provide ample enough parking for his enormous attitude?

It was okay for him to take their money for 3 season knowing the show was rigged but he get's his egotistical ass canned and he sues. What a hypocrite.

BTW there's been a website out for years explaining that all these "reality" shows were faked so his revelation is nothing new and the people who believe in the integrity of these shows probably believe rasslin is real. ROTFL

Nevermind: A&E unsuspends Phil Robertson

$1:
Does A&E have a spelunking reality show because they’re gonna need one to keep track of ALL THE CAVES.

A week after the patriarch of A&E’s ratings juggernaut “Duck Dynasty” family was indefinitely suspended by the network for comments he made about homosexuality in a magazine interview, Robertson is back. Now, the national firestorm that erupted over A&E’s hasty disciplining of the reality star will no doubt erupt again, this time for its hasty reinstatement of him. Because how could the screaming elements of the Left possibly allow a person with views different from their own to be on TV and respond by simply not watching or writing a scathing HuffPost comment about how icky they think he is. No, that would never do.

The network’s full statement, via Mediaite

"As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.

That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the “coarse language” he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would “never incite or encourage hate.” We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold.

But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family… a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio."

So, we’ve got some public lauding of the Robertson family, even noting they “come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance, and forgiveness,” which is bound to rankle the very people who rejoiced in Phil’s suspension because it uses the approved language of the left to applaud a Christian family. One assumes the Robertson family, already millionaires outside of TV, at least threatened to walk during this debacle. “Duck Dynasty’s” millions upon millions of viewers certainly did. Hence, a Christmas week news dump reinstatement of Phil.

A&E will be producing fluffly PSAs to assure everyone they believe in tolerance or something. Which, if they did, they could have illustrated it by saying, “Hey, yes, we disagree with Phil’s beliefs but don’t think it rises to a fireable offense that he’s talking about them in public. The Robertsons are actually a pretty cool and caring family, as the millions who watch every week know.” But tolerance in the public parlance doesn’t actually mean the tolerance of people with differing views and lifestyles. “Tolerance” is a system of enforced celebration, and nothing short of celebration will be tolerated. I wonder if these PSAs come with a complementary sizeable donation to GLAAD? A “multimillion dollar protection racket’s” gotta rake it in somehow.

It was bound to happen. Money usually trumps conviction. However it's their network to run. I didn't watch the show before and I won't watch it now. I prefer my TV religion free.

Strange timing for this, considering A&E had a Duck Dynasty Christmas Day marathon with Phil probably in every episode.

In pro wrestling they have something called a "worked shoot". A normal "shoot" is when a performer (usually after they've been fired or just quit) does an interview where they crap all over their employer or co-workers. Usually just egomaniac stuff, because most pro wrestlers are fucking insane. A worked shoot is a fake, where the pissed-off performer rips all over everyone like in a normal shoot, except that this time it's part of a storyline, or "work" as they call it. It usually ends up with the allegedly fired/quit wrestler returning with a big splash where he beats up the employer, the bad guy holding the title belt, screws over a tag-team partner/stablemate, or attacks the main good guy. It's all bullshit, but it's usually quite entertaining.

This whole thing with the duckers is probably A&E doing their own version of a worked shoot. They probably could care less about what the bearded weirdo actually said. All it really did was bring more attention to their most popular show. And it played perfectly into the ongoing culture war in the US, where the dullards flocked as usual to the dogwhistle of "them libruls are dissin' us again!". A&E are the people that let Dan & Laura Dodson spike storage lockers with fake items that never belonged to the original locker renter and then they take these things in for fake appraisals to whatever famewhore whackjob shop owner in LA who wants to get on TV bad enough to boost their business. I wouldn't put anything past them as far as this ducker controversy goes. Under careful examination it's got fucking worked shoot written all over it.

I have a friend whose parents own a Canadian Tire store. They ordered in a pile of Duck Dynasty duck calls for their sporting goods department and they can't sell them. It seems the product that made the DD folks supposedly so rich aren't of much interest to anyone around there.

DD, that's funny, Duck Dynasty and "developmentally delayed" share an aycronym. Coincidence? I think not.

Wow this guy also thinks girls should be marrying at age 15....

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/12/29/d ... ey-are-15/

Anyone willing to defend this guy when he's basically saying it's ok to have sex with a 15 year old after marrying her?
