It is clever. But it's also - at least arguably - illegal. And it will probably get them into more trouble than it's worth if charges are brought against them.

You have to be kidding. If charges are laid than whomever lays them will be the laughing stock of the country and the 50% of the population who have not heard of them will quickly become informed. For the protesters it's a win/win situation. If it had been ignored, probably 1000 people across the country would have heard about it. Righteous indignation is so easy to drum up and it usually makes a fool of the righteous.

Sure. And if they stop, we were talking about it in the news, on the forums, etc., and they have raised their profile without getting arrested.

100% in agreement with you there. I fully think that trying to get people to live more environmentally aware is not a bad thing but often they do take it to a stupid extreme or forget their own values.
