Obviously we can't handle 700,000 people all at once. Ridiculous to suggest that would even happen.

Why not? If Mount Ranier exploded today then a whole big chunk of Seattle would head north to Vancouver by tomorrow morning.

So it's not a ridiculous idea at all and I'll bet you someone in the CF has a contingency plan for this scenario just in case it ever happens.

That's the thing. These aren't recent arrivals that can't speak English who wandered across the border to pick crops. These are the kids of previous illegals that have or are in the school system. They speak the lingo, they're learning applicable skills, and have huge life-long potential. It's a fool and a fool only that wouldn't want them as citizens.

And they won't come in en masse either. There's the usual entrance and citizenship requirements that they'll have to meet first. In terms of making allowances for a large contingent of immigrants into the country this is about as far as it gets from something as stupid as the Europeans letting millions of fighting-age Muslim males into their countries over the course of only several years.

America's loss, Canada's potential gain. At a minimum it's worth discussing and studying. Besides, just think of the fun to be had by a second La Raza setting up shop to the north of the US. Dimwit heads would be all explodey at FOX, Breitbart, and the rest of the chud watering holes.

This is what I'm talking about. Preparation.

They aren't US citizens, so they'd probably have to apply for immigration to Canada from their country of origin anyhow.

Come one guys, these are Americans that just aren't in US legal terms. We should prepare now and actually welcome them, preferred immigration status. Exactly what you anti-immigrant types seem to want.

I'm an anti-immigrant type? I can only assume you haven't been paying attention.

Good! Now you folks can pay to shelter them, feed them, pay for their educations, and then put up with their shit when they demand their 'rights' from you.

What's the big deal? To be a 'dreamer' you have to be educated, employed and upstanding. Meaning; you aren't paying to feed or shelter them either. And we get them pre-educated for free!

I wonder why no one mentions the study that the trump government had started, showed that refugees resulted in a 63 billion dollar revenue surplus for the federal government compared to their costs, which the government then completely ignored.

Just pointing out they aren't US citizens legally, Caleb.
They grew up in the US, therefore they're more American than whatever their legal nationality is
Not only would I court the best of them to come here, I'd waive the 'apply from home country' rule in their case.

You can have as many of them as will come to Canada. Don't forget to take their illegal alien parents with them, too.

(It's a package deal!)

I actually wrote that on page 1, which is why I assumed you weren't paying attention when you called me an 'anti immigrant type'.
