$1:
The newspaper reported that O'Reilly or 21st Century Fox have paid $13 million to five women since 2002 over these complaints "in exchange for agreeing to not pursue litigation or speak about their accusations against him."

As we've learned with one Mr. William Henry Cosby Jr, where there's smoke there's almost always fire.

O'Reilly says wealthy celebs like him are targets but where are the accusations against fellow Foxers like Hannity or Carlson? He seems to be very unlucky in this regard. Must be his kind and trusting nature.

That's on top of the tens of millions it had to pay out for former head Roger Ailes' sexual harassment. I wouldn't be surprised if there are other cases from less important people in that organization too. The blatant and open rape culture at Fox News fomented by these two and tolerated/encouraged by everyone else at that detestable right-wing propaganda outlet only proves how far women still have to go in this world, especially in conservative-dominated environments where sexual harassment is still considered acceptable.

Plus black female employees were apparently systematically berated and mistreated by another Fox executive just more evidence of the moral cesspool that is the American conservative mind.

History repeats, as when Glenn Beck and Limpbaugh finally went too far. Advertisers are leaving the O'Reilly show in droves because they don't want to get damaged by association with his behaviour.

Conservatives just hate women, it's that simple.

This isn't O'Reilly's first time around in the sexual harassment department either. Over a decade ago he and Fox had to settle with a female producer he also victimized, including leaving graphic voicemail messages about rubbing her down with a felafel!

You can refresh your familiarity on that one here:

$1:
OCTOBER 13--Today marks the tenth anniversary of the filing of the greatest lawsuit ever.

On this date in 2004, Bill O’Reilly was accused of sexual harassment by Andrea Mackris, an associate producer who worked with the TV host at Fox News Channel. Mackris’s New York State Supreme Court complaint is bursting with examples of the 65-year-old O’Reilly’s alleged sleaziness (which apparently was surreptitiously memorialized via Mackris’s tape recorder).

The lawsuit was settled within two weeks and the parties agreed to confidentiality provisions intended to shroud O’Reilly’s purportedly pervy ways. The legal settlement reportedly included a fat check for the 43-year-old Mackris, who said that O’Reilly could be “paternal and engaging” and then “tyrannical and menacing.”

A decade later, Mackris’s complaint--filed by attorney Benedict Morelli--remains a better read than any of O’Reilly’s subsequent best sellers. Mainly because the lawsuit includes topics such as (links below):

Vibrators
Masturbation lessons
Phone sex
A “short brown” Balinese woman who allegedly was “amazed” when she saw O’Reilly’s penis
Threesomes
The loss of O’Reilly’s virginity in a car at JFK airport
Sex with two Scandinavian stewardesses
A Thai sex show
Al Franken
O’Reilly’s masturbation
O’Reilly’s climaxing
Caribbean shower fantasies
“One of those mitts, those loofa mitts”
Falafel
O’Reilly’s “big cock”
More vibrator-aided ejaculation

So, put aside a few minutes and enjoy the lawsuit again for the first time (23 pages)

I know. The place is basically a sewer of a frat house. A bunch of "real men" who got away with it because the behaviour was tolerated, or even encouraged, by the evil old viper (Roger Ailes) at the top of the food chain. There's testimony in his divorce papers when O'Reilly's own daughter said she saw him take her mother down with his hands wrapped around her throat trying to strangle her. None of this damaged his employment status though, not even once. Would have been nice to see the conservatives flip out over O'Reilly's doings the same way they did with Brian Williams' lies and exaggerations. But, hey, O'Reilly's one of "Our Guys" so they were obligated to the cause to look the other way.

I wonder whether or not the culture at FOX has now changed since Ailes and everyone left.

O'Reilly went on a spontaneous "vacation" a couple of days ago and there's some scuttlebutt out there that he might not be coming back. After the Andrea Tantaros and Gretchen Carlson revelations, accompanied by the collapse of sponsors willing to advertise on O'Reilly's show, the post-Ailes regime at FOX might not be willing to put up with these guys embarrassing the company anymore with their groper/horndog antics.

Fox paid $13 million for the current O'Reilly settlements, that's in addition to an undisclosed amount for his earlier harassment of a producer. They paid a $20 million settlement to Gretchen Carlson alone for Ailes, and Ailes also has caused multiple multi-million dollar settlements. Plus Fox had to pay Ailes $40 million severance just to fore his putrid ass.

Not exactly chunp change. How many tens of millions of dollars does Fox budget for each year to settle sexual harassment claims? Fox isn't a news network so much as a sexual harassment club that puts on tv shows to pay for its legal settlements

Hidden camera footage shows typical treatment of female employees at Fox:

Pretty much sums up Republicans in general.
