the two accused should get no jail time, no fine, no community service, nothing...what they should be sentenced to is the financial adoption of the child, they gotta pay for new clothes, school stuff, license, pitch in for a car, help with education funding, all the things the kids parents would do financially....these two winners should have to do until the kid is like 20 or something.
looser prick fucks, i have absolutely NO respect for street racers.

That is just so sad...I'm with heavy_metal on this one...they should pay for everything that little girl needs until she is of legal age....What a sad situation for that little girl:(

How do they know they were street racing if they were only going 20 or 30 over?

Tricks Tricks: How do they know they were street racing if they were only going 20 or 30 over? Witnesses ? $1: The men's defence lawyers said that while their clients were driving 20 to 30 kilometres over the speed limit, they are remorseful and young, and as a result are seeking a sentence of house arrest and community service.
Ohh ya..that will teach them a lesson. They can also add that they can no longer obtain a license in which unables them to drive on public streets.
But what can you say...this is Canada, give them a slap on the wrist, let them play PS3 at home thinking of their big mistake...

These kids weren't street racing. Only going 20-30 over isn't street racing. They are being classified that because A) They are guys. B) They are young. C) They are friends. D) they were driving over the speed limit. 20-30 over isn't even all that fast. I do 20 over on almost every street I'm on. So I guess I'm a street racer.
And the thing with the little girl is a stunt by the lawyer to bring emotions into the minds of people who are supposed to be objectionable. Should they be charged with reckless driving? Absolutely, but don't lay the blame squarely on their head, and label them something they are not.

You weren't there but there were witness's, and yet we are to believe you that they weren't street racing? As for the girl speaking up being a stunt. What exactly is a stunt about letting these criminals know the impact their crime has had. Far too often people dismiss these acts as harmless fun. It's not harmless when a little girl has lost both her parents. The courts allow victim statements all the time, it's not a stunt.

Nope, you can believe whatever you want. I don't think they were street racing. 20 - 30 over isn't street racing. That's normal. $1: As for the girl speaking up being a stunt. What exactly is a stunt about letting these criminals know the impact their crime has had. Far too often people dismiss these acts as harmless fun. It's not harmless when a little girl has lost both her parents. The courts allow victim statements all the time, it's not a stunt. Hmmmm... Makes sense. But I still think doing it in the court is meant to sway the sentence.

True, in California if you're 20-30km over the limit we just call it 'commuting to work'.
Heck, on the freeways here if you do the speed limit you can actually get a ticket for impeding the flow of traffic if the traffic is going faster than you are.

Let the courts know the impact the crime has had on the families and society. It's far from a stunt. If someone were to kill someone you loved you too would have the right to give a victim impact statement.

When me an my friend come home from work together, we will generally get going 100 in a 60. Cause it's like 1 am and no one is on the road. So I guess we are street racers.
