What I don't understand, is that there was no care afterwards. Having 7 teeth pulled at once... How the hell do you expect anybody to eat?? Let alone an 8 year old?
A friend of mine had his adult teeth pulled, and he was on a liquid diet for weeks! WHY wasn't she admitted? WHY did noone freakin LISTEN??
I agree with you on this Brenda, except that deciduous teeth are much less sensitive and much shallower rooted than adult teeth. Removal of the milk teeth would be a lot less catastrophic than loss of adult teeth. That said, I still can't see why something was not done. It appears that everyone is at blame.
Baby teeth are more shallow-rooted, but they're not les sensitive. In fact, you could argue that they're more sensitive, having a larger pulp chamber. 10% of American dentists don't freeze baby teeth when they work on them, thinking they're "only beby teeth" - yet they have nerves and kids certainly feel pain.
Normally removal of deciduous teeth is pretty routine, but most of this girl's were removed to prevent future problems. They weren't necessarily ready, and sometimes the roots are "caught" between the adult teeth and haven't been reabsorbed yet.
Well, I am not a dentist and am only going on what I have seen.
