Gm and the CAW are responsible, they were overpaid anyways so they should have saved for their retirement.

Ya right, fund their pensions with bailout money
Quote:
They want to ensure part of any bailout money is allocated to help fund their pension, and are seeking a seat at the table as the company negotiates for assistance.

Reminds me of the greedy coalminers here who let the UMWA talk them into a lengthy strike which cost them all their jobs when the company went bankrupt.
They also lost their pensions, some got pennies on the dollar 15 years after the bankruptcy, that's how long it took to get settled.

After that reality check the thousands of other miners all of a sudden realized their jobs werent sacred and began bargaining for the survival of the company and their jobs instead of just THEM.

Eznar Deanna(then head of the UMWA) is similiar to Buzz with his us against them rhetoric and thinking.
Eznar still couldnt go out in public a few years ago,the wives of the miners wont ever forget him and how he ruined their lives and cost them their pensions.
