More Harper on CNN.
Banking and Afghanistan starts 25 min. in.

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/podcas ... ideosearch

Quote:
"We're not going to win this war just by staying," Harper said. "My own judgment is quite frankly we are not going to ever defeat the insurgency.

"What has to happen in Afghanistan is we have to have an Afghan government that is capable of managing that insurgency and improving its own governance."

He would win a majority for sure.

Great question, perhaps he is using CNN as a proxy. I have a strange feeling if anyone but Harper was to say what he said during that interview they would be called a taliban sympathiser. Kinda stifles the whole debate.

Wow that was one of the most interesting interviews I have seen him do. Its definitely more insightful and informative of what Stephen Harper the person thinks rather then the politician. I can't way I disagreed with a thing he said which is definitely a first.

Good question. Very lucid thoughts to CNN, yet not quite so to CBC (investment advice did not go over well).

Maybe he's learned from past mistakes.

I'm surprised you found that stuff at all. It isn't even on CNN.com itself, at least I didn't see anything and didn't even know he was on CNN until this topic came up.

I like his attempt at 'trying' to at least make Canada known to America but it just seems like he is some common talk show guest instead of the PM of Canada.

Oh and just to say my point:

I try to listen Harper in English most of the time but in Quebec, because of the regulations, everything is translated :o

You can hear him talking in background but since i'm used to hear french I just hear that (which is totally normal).

I would not say the show he was on is like 'the view' or fluff like that. The guy on last week was Karzi.

The PM of Canada is not from a third world country like Karzai.
