Recently I've become aware of SAD ( seasonal affected disorder).
I've read that most canadians dont get enough sunlight during the winter months. This affects their vitamin D production as well as their circadian rythms ( the only rythm that a white man has) that is stimulated by natural light hitting your retina.
So, just wondering.....have you noticed that this time of year can be a more hostile time of year for CKA members?

Yeah I have noticed it with a lot of people. It happens to me this time of year when winter is leaving and summer and coming...and it's stuck in the middle of the two seasons. And there's nothing to do.

BTW, dont waste your money on a light therapy lamp that costs you $200. I found a study that concluded that students in a full spectrum light perform better academically......and since it would be ludicrous for someone to fill a classroom full of $200 lamps, they must have used a commercially available flourescent bulb. I've been using a flourescent grow bulb at my workbench for the last 4 months. It hasn't given me a tan, and its one of those things where I can't say for sure if it is helping me.....BUT IT DOESN'T COST $200, IT ONLY COSTS $15 I figure that its either going to help me, or I'm going to transform into a canabis plant

It's not just the quality of the light, but quantity too. I'm not sure how grow bulbs work, but you'd probably want it shining right into your eyes to get the effect. I heard a nifty sounding unit advertised on the radio that you wear on your head so allows you mobility. Don't know the price tho. And none of that will give you your vit D requirements - you should be taking supplements for that.

Towards the end of February people are having to pay their Christmas bills (finances are tight), winter is dragging on in most parts of the country... also known as winter depression or winter blues.
oh and btw, it's Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

I have mine at my workbench and leave it on several hours at a time. Like I said, I'm not really certain that this is helping, it doesn't seem to be hurting me As for the Vitamin D, I couldn't find any concern about vitamin D overdose, so I'm taking 1000 IUs per day. The good news is there are pills that you can take, you don't have to take cod liver oil. IIRC, cod liver oil only offers a fraction of the 1000 IUs that the pills offer.

Not to mention there's no stat holiday between New Year's Day and Easter (my company works on 'Family Day' so we can have a long weekend in August instead).
