I'll agree if you put it like that.

Gun control is like they say, "being able to hit what you aim at".

If people are going to use weapons to defend themselves, which IMHO they should have every right to do, they had better be damn sure they realize the consequences of their actions.

If they miss and take out an innocent bystander, they, unlike some low life gangbanger, who given our tainted judicial system, would likely walk, will be in for a hefty lawyer bill, alot of outraged people and definately no sympathy from a large segment of society.

Exactly. People have the right to defend themselves with weapons, but as you say, that requires an extraordinary level of responsibility and accountability.

With Gun Rights comes Gun Responsibilities. Like, demonstrating you can use one adequately. My local gun range gives excellent gun safety and marksmanship courses.

I quite agree as well; because we have put the responsibility for enforcing law and order, and investigating crime in the hands of a police force - we have not abdicated our own right to enforce that same law and order by people in general. If the government isn't going to fund the police so they can do that, or if the police for some reason decide there are other priorities, then the responsibility needs to be delegated back to the citizens.

Maybe I missed it at this hour while skimming but on top of him tossing bullets into the street not one also mentioned they guy was running away before he started shooting. At least I think the story indicated that. Need to shoot him as justified level of force ended when the guy turned and ran. The gun did its job unfired. Shooting him while fleeing is very bad judgement and not self defense. All the self defense he needed was to pull out the gun. The guys start to flee, let them, you're safe and the woman is safe, the people in the street are safe.
