How is he a jerk? The woman in the story is 23 years old. I will have to assume that the man is in his early 20's as well. They have only been dating for three months, long distance at that. They are not married, or even engaged for that matter. No promise ring, no commitment. What 20 something male (or female for that matter) is going to go without sex for someone that they have no commitment to? What is he guilty of? Being human? I bet that if we had a private eye follow her around that we would see that she is doing the exact same thing. Its time to put to rest this myth of female fidelity. Back in the day females had to live in the home of her husband's family, or stay home to raise the children. Women did not have the same opportunities to cheat as men. Now that they are in the workforce (and have workplace time excuses) they are cheating just the same (if not more than) men. She needs to smarten up and date someone where she lives. Jimmy Johns needs to mind their own business and deliver their subs. They are not in the confidential informant business. I would not be surprised to see a lawsuit against them for this.

You're a complete assclown, and it shows from that idiotic response.

The delivery driver didn't have to do anything in this case, but unlike you, he has a moral compass and decided he couldn't let it slide. I applaud him for what he did it letting the girl know what was going on. He might not be in the 'confidential informant business' as you have mentioned, but this shows that there are still decent human beings out there that know the difference between right and wrong, and actually do something about it.

As for her 'smartening up' and 'dating someone where she lives', it's not always that easy. Many, many years ago, I had a long distance relationship with a woman that lives several hours away. Needless to say, it didn't end up working out in the end. It's easy for you to say that someone should hook up with someone close by, but real life and matters of the heart seldom work that way.

I just find it sad that you are advocating 'hear no evil, see no evil".

Has a moral compass but, breaks Iowa privacy laws.

Not overly moral to be breaking laws is it? Or is the compass more moral depending on direction?

I am gonna go out on a limb a say there is enough eau du ocean to call this tail a touch fishy for reality.

I apologize for taking so long to respond. Only a few people responded to the thread, so it quickly fell out of the recent topics when I come on this forum. I am going to let the personal insults slide because I know from reading other posts from you lately that you are going through a rough patch. I have been there myself and know that it sucks big time. I do not ever want to go through it again. I will say that finding another job at only 7 weeks is pretty damn impressive, so you must be doing something right or you possess a very impressive skill set. You state that I do not have a moral compass. I disagree. I caught my wife cheating on me and threw her ass out. I took sole custody of a child that was in the third grade. I was a single parent in a city with no family to help babysit or help fill my freezer, or put gas in my car. I raised her to be a strong independent woman. I put her through 4 years of college. She starts work full time as a kindergarden teacher on Aug 1st. I have never been on welfare, taken any food stamps, lived in public housing, defaulted on a debt, etc.

I took my wedding vows seriously, my wife did not. I got divorced when my kid was in the third grade and she just now graduated college. I have never remarried because I do take it seriously. I am not advocating hear no evil see no evil. I am advocating being realistic. Long distance relationships wreck havoc on "real relationships" like long term marriages with children. If they cannot survive a long distance relationship than how can a bunch of hormone driven teenagers that have barely known each other (with no children or legal commitments ) survive? You admit that your own long distance relationship failed, and you seem like a stand up guy that fights for what he believes in. If it can happen to you, than it can happen to anyone. I am not advocating cheating, I am advocating people smarten up and face reality as well as biology.

My daughter is dating a service member who is deployed to Afghanistan. They were only dating a few months when he got orders to deploy. He asked her to marry him. I talked her out of it. I like the guy, I really do. After he gets back and they want to marry, I have no problem with it. First off they have not dated long enough to get married. Second off the fact that he is deploying to a war zone for the first time is clouding his judgement. The fear of dying makes some people want to pass on their genes before they pass to feel as though they are leaving something behind. Third we do not know if the same man that she knew is going to be returning to her. People see and do horrible things in war. Some if not most people are never the same after seeing the atrocities of war. Is he going to be the same fun loving guy she knew before he deployed? I do not know. I like the guy. I am grateful for his service and want him to come home safe and soon. However my daughter is my first concern. If he comes home a basketcase than I am going to have to strongly recommend that my daughter move on with her life, and find someone new. I do not think that will be the case because although he cannot talk much about what he does, I get the feeling that he likes killing terrorists, and gives it about as much thought as I do brushing my teeth in the morning.
