Why not prove this assertion in a court of law?

Because

Yeah, but I've already mentioned how that is an inadequate excuse.

Yet you never have said why.

Poor little Omar. His family is the pinnacle of terrorist sympathizers and people like Romeo Dallaire would have him back in Canada ASAP, because, he was only 16 at the time of his crime, therefore he must be a child soldier, which in essence exhonerates him from any crime.

That line of thinking is pure bullshit. Kadhar wasn't ever a child soldier. In no way does he fall under the parameters of the UN's convention on child soldiers, which states:

Quote:
The Optional protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflict to the Convention that came into force in 2002 stipulates that its State Parties "shall take all feasible measures to ensure that persons below the age of 18 do not take a direct part in hostilities and that they are not compulsorily recruited into their armed forces".[1]

The key word here is compulsorily. At no time was Omar ever compulsorily obligated to become a child soldier. He went willingly with his father to carry out their Jihad against the west and now that he's rotting in Quantanamo Bay, certain factions of the opposition party would like nothing more that to have this family of terrorists who are simply citizens of convience, reunited.

The only possible way you could safely release Kadhar is by deporting his entire family to some crap hole Muslim country and then denying him a passport to leave Canada and visit them.

The Conservatives stand on this issue show's there's still some common sense in Ottawa.

He is a terrosist and should be treated as one. Age doesn't come into it: he knew what he was doing.

Bodah, old chap, let us ponder a hypothetical situation: Let's say, for the sake of discussion, that most people hate your rancid, feces-impacted guts. Let's say - strictly hypothetically, of course - that most people believe you to be a greasy, herpes-ravaged, pus-filled twat of a guy who deserves to be jailed without trial.

How would that sit with you?

Although I personally take into account that Khadr was VERY young when he got dragged into this, I can agree with you that he probably is guilty of..... well, something, but I'm not sure what. Let's find out by putting this guy on trial.

No good can come out of us turning into an angry mob.

The type of trial you want for this poor misguided young man would be the typical civic trial from a jury of our peers, problem is Afghanistan is a war zone so it didnt happen in downtown Toronto.

So, if we had that type of trial for poor young Kadhr. He would not doubt be acquitted, for lack of evidence, witnesses not being able to show up because their deployed in a theatre of war, dead witnesses etc.

Thats why in a time of war there is a different justice system, I think for one reason or another you to easily dismiss the fact that these areas are battle zones , there are no CSI agents investigating collecting evidence, collecting notes from witnesses , yellow tape. All they have I believe are battle reports from Officers.

I would hope and think that American soldiers don't snatch up kids for no good reason so they can just find anyone to punish let alone a kid as soon as one of their fallen comrades goes down. But thanks for admitting though that you feel he likely did something wrong.

I wont post it but google images for Christopher Speer, to see what this grenade did to him, warning graphic.
