The admission of guilt..Liberals have always ignored the west. They have always run election campaigns on the premise of sticking it to the west to win votes in the east.

BC liberals used to say that if we wanted more western representation, we should elect more Liberal MPs. Little did we know that "west" to them meant only as far as they could see from the CN tower.

It will be interesting to see whether Ignatieff gains in the polls or later gets votes for stating what seems to the the obvious.

I just love it. After 100 years of neglect, one lone Liberal has noticed that there's a western Canada.

This smacks of pure opportunism. The only reason Iggy is trying to get votes out west is that with Ontario's economy down the toilet, he's gonna have to get his money from somewhere.

It'll be really funny to see him get his bubble burst. You can't neglect a region of a country for over a century and then when the going gets tough expect them to come to the table with their wallets open and a big smile on their faces.

The problem was that Trudeau had the balls to tell Alberta and Quebec where they could go.. so they both cried like spoiled kids.. lets tell it like it was..

you notice it seems like only the media is concerned about what iggy has to say ? wonder when was the last time another opposition leader got that much press ? just for talking .

but realistically the west is the least likely place for the liberals to make any gains , if you look thru the last elections results you will notice the liberals came 3 rd in just about every riding in saskatchewan . they couldn't even beat the ndp there . so how do they plan on winning actual seats there ? i don't see how or the likleyhood of that .

don't even presume to know whom I would or would not vote for.

The only reason I vote Conservative is I liked their platform, if the liberals would change some of their policies, I would vote for them.

Don't let your own arrogance blind your insight.

Yep and I commend him for it. Frankly if the liberals proved they cared about the west and were willing to include us more in their cabinets and budgets I would vote for the party if they came up with a good platform at election time. Especially if I thought my vote would result in a minority government.

The Liberals didn't sound this compassionate when they were going use the coalition to force Dion on the west. Iggy has a lot more rubbet chicken events to do to make us forget that he signed and supported that document also.

It's good that he is making such statements. With the Liberals taking notice of the west the Conservatives will have to up the ante to protect their territory . More power to the west
