Ok since we don't have lotto here, i'm gonna ask. What does having a ticket voided means. Like having the ticket cancelled after buying it ? And another question why would anybody do that, you've already spent the money right so whats the point of having it cancelled ? Do you get a refund ?

Yes, the ticket was cancelled after the purchase.

The teller apparently accidentally printed 27 tickets when she asked for 12
(more or less) and the winning ticket was among the ones that we're cancelled
after the miscommunication.

It means someone asked for a ticket but then decided not to purchase the ticket after it was printed, so the ticket is voided by the retailer so they're not charged. Therefore the person who ordered the ticket probably has no idea that that particular ticket was the one, unless it was their regular numbers.

Whose bought a ticket for this Friday's $50 million Lotto Max jackpot? I pot a $6 ticket (3 lines and the extra) for myself, and I went half and half with my co-worker ($3 each) on another ticket.

I remember when I went to Vancouver in '96, Lotto BC played ads saying, "To the person who forgot to add the Extra to your Super 7 ticket bought in Richmond, thank you. We are happy to keep $100,000 you would have won if you had paid the extra dollar!"
