If I know anything about politicians, this means he is definitely running for leader of the federal liberals.

I don't think so.

The problem with the Federal Liberal party right now is that it is being run by an invisible, unaccountable elite in Toronto. How did Bob Rae get appointed interim leader at exactly the same time as Ignatieff resigned? The precious elite has decided Rae is in and no one should be bothered running.

Is Justin Trudeau running?

McGuinty is a clever character, he won't run in a fixed race. Besides I think he really does love Ontario, that is why he keeps getting re-elected,

I'd take him over Justin Trudeau or Bob Rae, that's for sure.

So would I. I don't know much about Justin Trudeau but he is not running and is only 39. Bob Rae is just scary and won't be able to win back seats in Ontario let alone anywhere else.

This could be the end for the Federal Liberals.

The rest of Canada should consider itself lucky, as long as he's not bullshitting about it. McGuinty has proven he's a tax and spend it [on nothing] like it's water classic Liberal.
He's also proven to be quite the vindictive asshole to cities and regions that don't vote for him.

Doesn't like rural Ontario too much, and thinks Ontario is all about Toronto and nothing else. I wouldn't piss down his throat if his guts were on fire!

Despite the bitching about Harris "gutting" medical care, he actually increased the funding to Cambridge Memorial Hospital AND set up an emergency fund so it could get a new roof, replace its boilers and get and get some new, much needed equipment.
When McVindictive got elected the first time, he cut off the increased funding to CMH cuz the city elected a Conservative MPP and handed it to the Guelph hospital, Guelph having elected a Liberal MPP.
Then he tried to shitcan the emergency fund for CMH. It took the combined efforts of the city's current MPP (at that time), the previous MPP, both of whom were Conservatives, and ultimately the city's Liberal MP to get McGumby to calm the fuck down and leave the emergency fund alone.

You mean the Occupy Toronto group?

Everyone else took two steps back. Seeing how an interim leader cannot run for the leadership of the party either whoever was left in the party didn't want to take control of the bus going over the cliff or they're looking for someone else to take the reigns while they prepare their own leadership bid.

My read at the time was that he was appointed as a "prime candidate". If not, and he can't run, the situation is very much worse for the Liberals. I mean who else is there?

Don't say Shelia Copps.

A Pity about both Rae and McGuinty. The combination would be the most competent tandem of politicians in Canada since MacDonald and Baldwin!

What about Flaherty whose wife won't let him run for the Ontario Tory leadership? A reprieve for Ontario.
