They needed a study to tell them that?? Could have just sent me to any beach with some Hotties. Of course my report may have not have been as detailed as they wanted.

8O why torture the poor menfolk so? how would you like to see some big fat hairy guy with gold chains and a banana-hammock in the middle of a chippendales slide-show? 8O

Oh, I've seen the beaches in the Netherlands... guess that's pretty common... [B-o]

Seems they are wasting time and money studying something that has been known for as long as there have been bikinis.
On the other hand, do women see men in speedos as objects.
Most women I know see men in uniforms as objects (firemen in paticular), are they studying this next.
I think these fools need to go to a ladies night at the clubs and take a look what goes on when there are male strippers around, makes the gentlemens club look like a morgue.

Here's me reading this article...

"Men see bikini-clad women as objects"

No kidding? What was your first clue Sherlock?

"It may seem obvious that men perceive women in sexy bathing suits as objects, but now there's science to back it up."

Whew...thanks I was worried.

"New research shows that, in men, the brain areas associated with handling tools and the intention to perform actions light up when viewing images of women in bikinis."

Hehe...you said "handling tools".

"The research was presented this week by Susan Fiske, professor of psychology at Princeton University, at the annual meeting of...blah, blah, blah, and so on for the rest of the article"

Translation. Men suck. Gimme my grant money.

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL That's terrible. Men place hand tools at the same level as bikini clad women, great research lady. While I love tools and I'll freely admit I almost sported wood over Mikita's new line of cordless drills I wouldn't go as far as to say I have the same reaction when I see a table saw as I do when I see a sexy chick in a bikini. How overly simplistic.

Could you imagine a guy doing research along the same lines as this? "Ya we've found that women have the same brain reaction when viewing shoes as they do when looking at chip n' dales". There'd be calls for our heads if men ever made statements like that.

How on earth do people get funding for such frivolous research when there are so many other worthy things the money could be going towards?

If I get a boner, does that mean I see them as objects? Guess I've been objectifying my wife for 16 years.

The only place you see that much doughy looking white stuff is in a bakery before they put the bread pans into an oven to bake.
