""The other is that ... it was blown up by the CIA so that the United States would get the upper hand in Hoyos de Dona" -- the oil reserves area."

ROFL, them Americans sure are a ruthless bunch in imagination land.

With such power that can blow up a entire island to dust.

My god, what monster are we allied too? lol.

50 metres below surface? The Island was perfectly visible just 12+ years ago. What other logical explanations are there?
You tell me.

S.P.E.C.T.E.R. could have done this. this is a job for James Bond. 12 years of Hurricanes could have also wiped the island away too.

Here's a more conservative source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29126037/displaymode/1176/

Here's the swedish article from Gothenburg Post (Göteborgs Posten) where I first read about it: http://gp.se/gp/jsp/Crosslink.jsp?d=305&a=476078

Do you have any examples of hurricanes wiping away islands, sending them 40+ metres underwater, accuring in the past?
And did these hurricanes sweep away the documents aswell?
Quote:
Bermeja island in the Gulf of Mexico -- a strategic marker defining US and Mexican maritime and subsea rights -- has disappeared along with documents backing up a bilateral treaty on major oil reserves in the area, fueling rumors of a CIA plot.

And shouldn't such powerfull hurricanes able to sink islands have been recorded and registered after their accurance?

Unless of course, the agreement and the island never existed to begin with.

I'm going for the submersible "Evil lair" of a Bond type Villain. /pinkyfinger

You're suggesting that this is a Mexican conspiracy aimed at the U.S?

It's still on "google maps".

Spanish isn't exactly my strong side but this is supposedly a picture of the disputed Mexican island, Bermeja.

I love how you go for the 'conspiracy' bit, and ignore the 'Dr. Evil' bit.

Well, you can't see the island itself on "google maps" but where it should be.
