MPs on both sides of the House of Commons are condemning a newly-released video that shows a Kelowna RCMP officer questioning an under-aged Indigenous teen who was reporting a sexual assault, asking her questions such as "were you turned on during this at all, even a little bit?"

...The more than two hour long footage of the interview with the alleged victim shows the male officer questioning the unidentified young woman after she reported a sexual assault while in the care of British Columbia's child welfare system, according to APTN News.

"Physically you weren’t at all responsive to his advances? Even maybe subconsciously?" the RCMP officer asks.

According to APTN News, the man alleged to have assaulted her was never charged.

Of course nothing happened to the cop either. Here’s the REAL example of 2-tier Justice someone was looking for recently.

But now that this has come to light will anything happen to the Cop? How about the bastard that rape the girl, is there any kind of statue of limitations that will prevent him from being charged?

Anyone know if this girl, now a woman of around 24yrs old, Is going to file law suites or something? I know limited knowledge at this time but would like any further follow ups that might happen.

Unlikely anything will happen to the cop. There is no such concept in Canadian law as 'statute of limitations'. The Crown will proceed with charges if they have a reasonable chance of conviction, regardless of the time that has passed since the commission of a crime. The things is, the longer the delay. the less chance of conviction because evidence is lost to time. :(

With the ongoing "Missing and Murdered Women and Girls" inquiry we've been having, you never know.

I agree the cop, if he is even still a cop, wont get punished. At best he will get a write up and mandatory sensitivity class of some sort. Good that there is no statue of limitations but also very true about it being such a long time sense the initial report. A lawyer once told me in a case similar to this "The longer it goes before trial the stinkier the case looks for the DA". I truly hope the young lady has been able to recover and in one sense move on with her life and not let this affect her to such a degree that she is unable to cope with things.

Anyone who thinks about sex assault like this cop should never be allowed to work any position of trust or authority again.

Sadly, nothing is going to happen to anyone in this case. Just a typical day of injustice for yet another aboriginal female, whom we’ve been told have nothing to complain about. Nothing to see here.

And congrats to scheer and the conservatives for condemning this as well...now let’s wait for Lynn Beyak to tell us how this girl benefited from her abuse

Heads need to be rolling over at BC Ministry of Child and Family Development.

Then the RCMP.

We are hearing about this now. Both of those parties would have been aware of this WHEN IT HAPPENED.

And neither did fuck all about it.

Can we sweep their scalps wherever they planned on sweeping this?

The girl’s lawyer was on the radio today. He said not only did the girl’ Social workers allow her to interrogated alone for 2 hours but when the officer declined to press charges, the social workers eventually forced her to write a letter of apology to the man she accused of raping her.

OH come on you know they will point out that she knew how to write thus the system works. The more info we get on this the more sick it gets.

Is this the same system that would take aboriginal children from their families and put them in schools because it would be better for them? Sounds like what happened to this girl falls along the same line.

Yup. The two things are related. They are locked together in an endless cycle, where first nations are considered expendable, and that leads to first nations feeling expendable.

What the cop did to the girl is yet another sexual assault.

The rotten motherfucker should have his badge shoved up his ass and then he should be dropped into a reserve for some tribal justice.
