I have yet to see a large weapons system that the Yanks have built (aircraft/ship/armoured vehicle/artillery) being bettered by a British version.

Sure, the UK has produced the odd really good bit of kit but most are let down by something.

Engine, range, firepower, accuracy, ease of field operations, reliability, one or more of these issues always lets the UK bit of kit down. Anybody who has served or is serving in HM Forces will know exactly what I mean.
