Some of us on this forum wouldn't last very long if we became subject to their laws and culture.

Quote:
A policeman in Pakistan hacked a man to death for allegedly making derogatory remarks about the companions of the Prophet Muhammad, police said, just two days after a Christian couple was lynched over blasphemy in the same province.

The man, Tufail Haider, 55, was taken into custody late on Wednesday in the city of Gujrat after a group of people allegedly overheard him making the remarks, beat him up and handed over to police.

"Officer Faraz Naveed brought him to the police station and sent him to lock-up. Haider did not stop using nasty words about Sahaba (the companions) despite warnings from various officials," said police officer Khurram Shehzad.

"At around 5.00 a.m., Naveed could not control his emotions. He went into his cell, brought an axe, entered the lock up and hit Haider's throat several times."

Haider died on the spot, police said.

Blasphemy is a serious offense in conservative Muslim Pakistan where those accused are sometimes lynched on the spot.

On Tuesday, in another part of Punjab province, a mob beat a Christian married couple to death and burned their bodies in a brick kiln for allegedly desecrating a Koran.

Blasphemy charges, even when they do go to court, are punishable by death in Muslim-majority Pakistan. They are hard to fight because the law does not define clearly what is blasphemous.

Even presenting the evidence in court can sometimes itself be considered a fresh infringement.

Pakistan's minorities feel that the state fails to protect them, and even tolerates violence against them.

Last month, a British man with a history of mental health illness, sentenced to death for blasphemy this year, was shot and wounded by a prison guard in his cell.

Also in October, a Pakistani court upheld the death penalty against a Christian woman, Asia Bibi, who is also accused of blasphemy, in a case that drew global headlines after two prominent politicians who tried to help her were assassinated.

Islam is as Islam does.

What is a bit confusing is that once upon a time Islamic values spurred the Italian Renaissance.

What happened that turned it into what it is today?

He just need to axe the man some questions.

The difference between and extremist Muslim and a moderate Muslims is that the extremist kills you while the moderate just wants an extremist to kill you.

Simple. Islam and a majority of it's followers became a group of poor misguided individuals who, because of centuries of religious brainwashing don't realise the best way to interact with other religions and people is not to hack them to death or........

it could be that they're pretty much all just a bunch of brainwashed fucking thugs who love to perpetrate hideous acts and inflict undeserved pain and suffering against non believers, women, others in their religion because they can get away with it.

It wasn't Islamic values, it was Islamic texts/books that spurred the Renaissance. The Reconquista of Spain unlocked tomes of knowledge that Europeans had forgotten since the fall of the Roman Empire.

While it's hard for most of us to believe today, in the 14th century it was Europeans who were unwashed, backwoods barbarians while the Muslims were educated and enlightened (as much as is possible under Islam anyways).

How is it blasphemy if Christians never believed the pedophile was a prophet?

Modern transportation that lets them leave the sandbox.

Remember the good old days, when the poor drove and only the rich could fly ?

Oh boy, that has changed. :P

Aside from that, nothing. The history of Islam's interactions with other
religions has never been anything but a bloodbath.

Here's another explanation on that.

"In the fourth, fifth, and sixth centuries Assyrians began a systematic translation of the Greek body of knowledge into Assyrian. At first they concentrated on the religious works but then quickly moved to science, philosophy and medicine. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Galen, and many others were translated into Assyrian, and from Assyrian into Arabic. It is these Arabic translations which the Moors brought with them into Spain, and which the Spaniards translated into Latin and spread throughout Europe, thus igniting the European Renaissance."

http://www.ninevehsoft.com/fiorina.htm

To be clear they are saying knowledge was spread more as a result of Muslim military conquest of advanced nations, not as a result of Islam's intellectual inventiveness.

Another thing I've heard from multiple sources is how the Caliphate had the trade routes bottled up, blocking the free flow of information. Supposedly one of the main reasons for the discovery of America by Columbus was the blockage of trade routes East by Islam. There's another claim that Muslims prevented modern technology such as how to make paper (Muslims got it from China) from spreading to the West, slowing the eventual renaissance.

It's the culture of victimhood. Everything tells them that they are the penultimate human beings. They have the only true faith, that they are the very best work that Allah can do. But guess what, in the horse race of civilizations since our Middle Ages, Islam came in forth or fifth. This doesn't jive with their world view and someone else must have done this to them and it HAS to have happened IN SPITE of Allah's will.
