The victim of a suspicious death at the Pemberton Music Festival Friday has been identified as 21-year-old Nick Phongsavath from Regina.
Phongsavath was found dead inside his tent just after 6 p.m. Friday. All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound, a spokeswoman for the RCMP�s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, said Saturday that no arrests have been made and IHIT has not identified a suspect in the death.
�IHIT is working closely with the Sea to Sky detachment and have been interviewing witnesses and speaking with event attendees throughout the night,� she said. �At this point, there is nothing to confirm or definitively rule out foul play.�
She said Phongsavath�s body has been removed from the scene and she expected the cordoned off area would reopen Saturday night. An autopsy will be required to determine the cause of death.
