Delwin Delwin:
I think it might be time for a today in bigotry omnibus thread. How the hell is this any different than a wetsuit? Why do people always have to try to up the anti? People should be able to wear whatever they want ffs. I'm so triggered by this. Hate begets hate.

Uhhhh yeah. See a lot of people wearing wet suits at the beach, sunning themselves do ya? Have you ever gone diving or worn a wet suit? Do you even understand the purpose of a wet suit?

Yet Nuns in Habits on the beach are fine. Weird.

No, they're not. They're wearing religious garments to the beach to make a religious statement and they need to be removed from the beach, too.

If the Catholic Church made ALL women dress like nuns, you might have a point.

But since they don't, you don't.

If I want to wear a goddamn wind breaker on the beach, I will!
Maybe my skin can't handle sun but my kids want to go to the beach anyway!

Maybe then you won't mind this guy harmlessly sitting around the beach in this outfit while you and your kids play at the beach. Because it's just his taste in clothing, right?

ALL Muslim women don't wear burkas. Or Burkinis. Or even Hijabs

How can you even engage with someone that is that blinded by hate? The funny thing is that the foaming righties always insist that Muslim dress bans are legit because the religion doesn't actually mandate the items being banned. I guess Martin didn't get the argument memo.

http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2016/08/26/nuns-cannot-wear-their-habits-on-our-beaches-says-deputy-mayor-of-cannes/

$1:
“So if you want to go to the beach in a burkini it’s forbidden because it is a provocation. Religion and the state are completely separated. Religion is the affair of each one but each one at home, each one at church, not each one in the street.”

When Edward Stourton asked him: “What about a Catholic nun. Would she be allowed to appear on the beach wearing her habit?”

The deputy mayor replied: “No. The same.”

I think people forget that laïcité was brought into law to combat the Roman Catholic Church.

Maybe they never wore habits to beaches with bans in place?

Lots of images flying around claiming to be nuns, in habits, in France...all sourced back to Italy or Brazil...strangely enough.

The only images I have managed to find of nuns, in France, in habits, on beaches, are in Hossegor, which I can't find any record of having a burkini ban...so, rather moot.

There are some nuns that I wouldn't mind helping to remove their habits.

And did you know that nuns invented the ice bucket challenge?

I had no idea that Daisy Lowe was a nun! You learn something new every day!

Thanks, Ray! [B-o]

Funny backfired BBC interview.

Woman on the beach, non burkini, being interviewed. She seems fine without her tent.
Reporter says 'court overturns ban'. She gets all happy, says she will wear her burkini tomorrow.

Then a minute later, she goes on about how she feels the French don't like her and don't
accept her.

Too stupid to actually figure it out.

Are any of those things illegal? If I try to suntan in a wetsuit in France will they arrest me?

I think the law only applies to women.
