The widow of a 9/11 victim was on that plane - on her way to celebrate what would have been his birthday.

Harsh.

I want to see if that is true, seems a little too far fetched...

Look for a few more articles on this crash. Many mention it, though this one didn't.

I have seen it too, but some are saying that the woman may have had an ex that died on 9/11. Another thing I noticed is that most of the Canadian stories are making a big deal about it being a Canadian made plane. While the US coverage doesnt say where the plane was made, just the type.

I guess it is true, Beverly Eckert, 9-11 widow, among crash victims. I wonder when the foilers will start coming out saying she was assasinated...

Our resident loons haven't woken up yet, so hopefully not for a while

Anyway, that's just sad, I hope the families can find some comfort...and I'm really curious about what happened.

Yea, I was about to say that the name given for her husband does appear on this list of 9/11 victims.

It's really not that hard to believe though. A lot of people died that day, and they all knew a lot of people so it's not surprising that on any given US domestic flight (particularly in the New York area), someone knew someone who died on 9/11. I'd bet someone on that Hudson River plane recently knew a 9/11 victim too.

From yesterday's news:

Bombardier Dash-8 Q400

I hope it's not a systemic thing. I love the Dash 8, and pick flights on it wherever I can.

From what I've read I'm guessing ice.

Ice on the wings is very very bad. Enough buildup and it destroys the laminar flow over the top of the wing. Bye bye lift.

The Dash 8 is a kick ass plane, I really want to know what exactly happened to this one.
