Im sure there is some nice neat psycological reasoning that could fir this and some nice psychological treatment that could help this fellow and everything would be nice and PC;

However I think a more direct approach is is in order here. Have the parents of the kids involved come out and beat the hell of out this jerk see how it feel when people hit you when they can get away it. That might help you with your "mental issues".
