This is kind of curious. Wonder how you would explain this to a small kid.

I don't think this will go though. People are so used to things as they are and too few people will benefit.

He mentions having every Christmas and New Year falling on Sunday but what if you have a religion whose main Holy day keeps falling on Thursday? At least Easter will be able to wander around as is its custom.

So he wants to turn the world on it's head just because he can't be bothered to take last year's syllabus, change the date and click 'Print'? Also his idea for the entire planet to use the same time zone is absurd. I don't want the time of 12:00 midnight (00:00 Hr) to occur at what is normally 7:00 P.M. How the hell would that work? It would make the Cinderella story seem a bit hard to relate to (Mommy, why is Cinderella trying leave the ball at midnight when it's still daylight outside?).

Interesting proposals. Don't see a real downside. I do see his idea of all of us adopting "Zulu" time having much less chance than the calendar, although I think it's a great idea.

Who the hell cares? 5 of every 7 years it falls on a weekday anyway.
I've reached the age where I don't give a damn about my birthday. The person that should be celebrated that day is mothers. They carried us for 9 months. They squeezed us out that little opening but somehow, we think we have reason to celebrate our accomplishment.
Besides, it's MY birthday. I can celebrate it any damn day of the week I want

Well, Ascension day is a Thursday, ALWAYS. (10 days before Easter). North America does not celebrate it tho.

My thinking is that it is anti-multicultural. If you set it up to please Christians you are going to put off pretty well everyone else.

Though it seems like a reasonable idea on the surface exactly who is going to benefit to any great extent from it? Certainly not calendar makers. I can't figure out how companies can make money selling them anyway when it is so easy to get them for free.

With the present calendar we all get to suffer some inconvenience together.
